Abstract

Internet traffic classification is remained to be important issue for years due to three major reasons. First, the fact that we cannot limit the number of users connected and obviously there would be continual increase in the number of users connected to the Internet with time. Second, increase in user access speed (due to the development of highly efficient hardware and software technology). Third, there are applications that require more network resources. This survey is done to find out the main problems in the field of Internet traffic classification and to acquire the knowledge about different classification techniques that have significant Impact on the scientific and research community.
