Dynamic Urban Road Detection and Vehicle Verification for Vehicle Detection

Abstract
This paper presents a vehicle detection system for urban roads comprising dynamic road detection, moving object detection using background subtraction, and vehicle verification with vertical asymmetry measurement. The proposed system shows better performance than Gaussian mixture model at detecting vehicles on the road.
