Abstract

Unlike traditional disparate legacy networks, Next Generation Networks (NGN) offer functional separation of services from the underlying transport enabling convergence in many forms. This paper discusses the requirement of QoS and QoE in Next Generation Networks (NGN), as defined by various international standards organizations, in order to set up the background for discussing the requirements in the Indian context.
