Abstract

The world is becoming a global village. In fact we are living in a borderless economy. A country, whether developed or developing cannot exist in separation. Globalization creates both opportunities and threats or challenges for the nation states. Review of literature reveals that developed countries are monopolizing the fruits of globalization and developing countries like Bangladesh could not reap the benefits of globalization due to lack of preparedness. This paper mainly focuses on examining the opportunities and challenges of globalization in the context of Bangladesh. The paper suggests that Bangladesh can successfully take on the challenges of globalization by encouraging productivity through its people. This paper recommends to implement people driven strategy to enhance productivity at the enterprise level in Bangladesh.
