Abstract

Rectangular Microstrip Antenna (RMSA) with a slot cut inside the rectangular patch at an appropriate position increases the surface current length and hence results in a compact RMSA like H-shaped MSA. This paper analyses the approximate equations to calculate the resonant length of the compact H-shaped MSA and discusses the technique for further miniaturization of the H shaped MSA by shorting one arm of the patch. Analysis of the antenna using FDTD method and different feeding techniques is also presented.
