Abstract
Right now, one of the most upcoming concepts in the field of Information Technology (IT) is 'Smart City'. Smart Cities are basically built up by Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The vision of the smart city concept is to improve the capabilities and simplify numerous problems of the city through optimized energy consumption, carbon emission mitigation, maximum recycling, smart transportation, intelligent security and 24×7 services for inhabitants. This article is emphasizing the vital role of smart cities in the world and then smart city six axes or dimensions.
