Geometrical Imperfections Sensitivity of a Four-node Membrane Element Using Perturbation Analysis Method

Abstract
By means of Koiter's perturbation approach, the perturbation equations of a geometrically imperfect four-node membrane element is obtained. Perturbation analysis method, a direct procedure to obtain the non-linear responses of geometrically imperfect structures, is discussed and used to expand responses as a power series in terms of the imperfection amplitude. To obtain the unknown coefficients of expansion, a FEM code specially developed.
