The sample used in this study was 84 students taught by 2 different lecturers. The results showed that mastery in information technology or computer self-efficacy has no effect on students’ activeness. Students from Information System department, which are considered to have more knowledge about information technology, are less active than Economics students. Female students are more active than male students. Student activeness is influenced by institutional policy and the role of lecturer as a facilitator and mediator.
