Abstract

In this paper, a Costas loop based method has been presented for digital receivers. The other most commonly used existing method is PLL but it suffer from the drawback of phase ambiguity. The proposed Costas loop overcomes this drawback of phase ambiguity. The proposed Costas loop has been designed and simulated using Simulink and System Generator Blocksets. The results show that the proposed design in digital receivers for providing high performance solution in wireless communication applications is capable of efficiently removing the phase ambiguity.
